Fitting Out and Making Ready

"Isn't the water supposed to be UNDER us instead of falling ON us?"

Daughter Lisa, Bill and Admiral Ruth ready to leave Atlanta.  The rain has just stopped.

    At least, the boat exists...

Chaz and Pete, left to right..

    We weren't the only visitors:

Here's the (very handsome) Bimini cover, the completion of which caused several days of the departure delay:

We're told that the nameboards will soon say "Integrity"..

Yesterday (and we can't be blamed because we weren't here) Cap'n Bill was installing a boat box on the stern deck:

..when the (then) open lid shifted and slammed down on his right thumb:

This injury (involving a trip to a doc-in-the box) might have caused a less intrepid captain to adjust his departure plans (as everyone knows, opposable thumbs are pretty good things to have aboard) -- but Cap'n Bill judged his lovely First Mate..

.. capable of bearing up under additional duties; the plan for Friday is still a GO!

Here's something else good to have on any voyage:

..flotation devices attached to the saloon keys..

Webmaster note: Back to Bill's narrative..

Ruth, Pete and Chaz (Bill behind the camera) catching up and waiting for the rain to stop so we can go to dinner at Bill's favorite restaurant…

..Tubby's Tank House in Thunderbolt.  Ruth, Bill, Pete and Chaz (note Bill's freshly splinted thumb).  It was a GREAT farewell dinner (thanks, Pete):

Here are Pete and Ruth after her "final" trip to the grocery store:

It's by this flag that the Integrity will be recognized by the other Great Loop adventurers.

In our tour of the boat's upper deck:

Here are the topside controls

..and Ruth's garden

With the dock power disconnected, it seems that they're really going to go:

If you look closely you can see the Captain's "stern" in this photo

At last!  A final wave from the intrepid crew of the "Integrity":

.. and Pete and Chaz left for home; the Hummer is Pete's, Froggy belongs to Ruth and Bill and there just wasn't room for Froggy on the boat. He'll be waiting anxiously in Atlanta for their return:
