On Monday we finally got underway early (8:30) and cruised on a following current further up the Waccamaw River. There were a few more remarkable sights:

And then into Pine Island Cut. The beauty of the river gives way to the man-made ditch. The Cut is treacherous in spots, and passes the backs of the stores along Highway 17 through Myrtle Beach.

We stopped in North Myrtle Beach at "Dock Holidays Marina". This was a first class spot. The photo below is of a photo on the wall in the marina office:

Directly behind us was another Monk 36 trawler owned by Jim and Rita Ague who split their time between the boat and their home in Colorado. You can see their boat toward the right and behind us:

We had happy hour with Rita and Jim aboard Integrity. Rita is the talkative one:

The anchor windlass had decided to break again, so Bill ordered another set of parts. Sadly, they won't be here for two more days (Wednesday). We'll have to stay over.

Dinner aboard and early to bed.
