Day 40: Mill Creek, VA to Solomons, MD
Day 40: Tuesday, May 17th: We left the anchorage reluctantly and turned north up the Chesapeake. Soon we passed another lighthouse, Smith Point Light at the mouth of the Potomac River:
..and the house behind the house:
As we crossed the mouth of the Potomac in fairly smooth seas beneath a pretty blue sky, Ruth took advantage of being back in cell phone range and chatted with Daughter Lisa:
The next lighthouse looked a lot like the one at Smith Point, but had a very unique name, "Point No Point Light" just off, of course, Point No Point in Maryland:
Our destination for tonight was Solomons, MD, a favorite boating area in central Chesapeake Bay. The harbor is stuffed with boats:
We tied up at Calvert Marina in front of a beautiful Selene 43 trawler:
We are outboard of a covered pier. Here is what it looks like out our starboard side:
We had supper aboard and watched a lovely sunset over the harbor:
